Your Questions About Becoming a Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Answered

Whether you're just exploring or ready to enroll, here's everything you need to know about turning your passion for sleep into a thriving career.

Can I become a certified pediatric sleep consultant while working full-time?

100% yes! More than 50% of our students/graduates have a full-time job at the time of their training and continue to work either part-time or full-time while they ramp up their practice and gain more experience in this field.

Can I start my own sleep consulting business after graduating, or do I have to work for someone else?

Not necessarily. Sweet Sleeper Academy will provide you with your sleep consultant certification upon completion of the program, allowing you to practice on your own or for another sleep consultancy. In order to take clients from our organization, you will need to apply after graduating the program, if there is an opening (which we do have frequently). Keep in mind, we don't hire consultants unless they have graduated from our program, so once there is an opening on our team, we will only consider our graduates!

How long does it take to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant?

The curriculum is designed to be a 10-week program, but it does give you the flexibility to complete it at your own pace. You must commit a minimum of 6 weeks to the curriculum portion of the training and complete the 50 practicum hours following, which is also done at your own pace.

Will I get hands-on experience with real clients before I'm certified?

The 50 required practicum hours are done prior to receiving your certification and are facilitated by My Sweet Sleeper. It consists of 27 observation hours listening to client phone calls and pre-recorded sessions, up to 10 hours from the weekly mentorship calls, and 13 volunteer hours with real clients.

Which program is right for me β€” live group training or self-paced?

We are proud to offer two different options for our pediatric sleep consultant program, so you can choose the option that best fits your learning style and schedule. Our live training is a smaller, exclusive group that consists of 10-12 students per class and meets once per week to review the curriculum. This option also includes a three month mentorship program following completion of the curriculum and once you have graduated. The live training requires an application process as well. The self-paced option gives you the freedom to go through the training curriculum at your own pace and allows you up to six months to complete the program. All of the curriculum for both the live and self-paced training is the same.

How much money can I realistically make as a pediatric sleep consultant?

Pediatric Sleep Consultants earn anywhere from $65-$150/hour and can easily make between $30,000-$150,000+ per year. How much you earn in this profession depends solely on how much work you put into it and how many clients you take on. If you are starting your own practice, you will have the freedom to create your own competitive pricing and set your own hours.

What is the investment to become a certified pediatric sleep consultant?

The total cost of the training is $4,000 for the "live" version and $3,100 for the 100% self-paced version. This includes all curriculum and your certification. The cost can be broken up into a payment plan, and, upon acceptance, a deposit will be required to secure your spot.
